The Passion

We loved what we did and stood out there for only one reason and that was to inspire.

Malaga to Pacifica

Bula my Choir family,

If your reading this. Time has certainly flown by so fast. Igelese and his family have come and gone. Things have changed a lot. It is now 2009 and 2006 only feels like it was yesterday but time has moved on and people have moved on. For me,It has certainly been a blessing to be in this Choir and at all its performances and being a part of this choir for me,over the last 4 years has had me experiencing so many fun times.

So much has been achieved and done, and I am very happy to say that we are still going on, walking the walk of inspiring our communities. Thanks guys for the great job well done, and to all our new members. Gather and enjoy the family. Coz the Choir is hear to stay.

Look out for the Pacifica Voices in Action @ this years South Pacific Pageant 2009.

Savusavu Music Festival 2008

Great experience to have gone to Savusavu Town. It was and is truly a laid back town in the true sense of the word. Loved every minute spent in Savusavu with the Pacifica Choir @ the Music Festival. We had time off from our busy Suva City life to recooperate and study for our upcoming exams, plus we had the oppotunity to perform for every there. A great experience.

Vodafone Fiji Bati Song!!

A true blessing for us to have the oppotunity to work "Art and Soul" and Igelese Ete to put together this truly inspirational piece of work. All credit to the boys for making it to the semi finals of the Rugby Legue World Cup in Australia. Recording and Video Shoot was done during an awkward time for the Choir members but I commend those who made this gig a sucess. Thanks so much guys for the hard work. Now that the Video is released. I "We" (Pacifica Voices) hope and pray that the song contines to live on in our lives for years to come, as we are truly the people that put the spirit into this country we call home. Fiji. We are the Spirit of Fiji.

Suva Secondary Schools Music Festival

Bula all,

Yes, it was wonderful to actually meet up with the choir members again and participate in another sucessful Suva Secondary Schools Music Festival 2008. Acclaimed to be a wonderful expericence of talent in our very own school system. True friendship and combination of schools in singing in one voice. I take my hat off to those of us who organised the event. To the Pacifica Voices and to our Exec committee and to ANZ Bank for stepping in and sponsoring the event in the last minute. Would also like to thank Mai TV for also taking upon itself to also video the event and broadcasting it for the rest of Suva to view. Vinaka Vaka levu to all who helped out. Especially to the volunteers and the students, without you guys this would not have been possible.

Thanks.

Looking back at 2007

Wow, i can't belive that time flies by sooo quickly. it's been a long time since i last posted something up here. man, since that last post i've created a network for malaga singers on ning - "Malaga Singers online" and it's pretty great. i'm hoping to find a new and better website that can host the new choir... but that'll have to come later.2007 was a hectic year for the choir. it was just full of conspiracy, fun, fights, crying, singing, grog drinking, sleepovers and late night sewing of costumes. We were allocated a room at the music centre to use: this was called the malaga room. it was a singing, meeting, studying centre for all of us... although most of us used it to muck around and waste time between classes....like me! lolA lot of stuff happened but i won't go into great detail about it. there was a change of leadership in the choir executive committee and from there things sorta went downhill with everyone in the choir. most people lef the choir for more quiet pastures. Me? i'm a tough old thing, i stuck around to enjoy myself and sing which was why i joined t the choir in the first place.we toured Nadroga (Coral Coast) and Savusavu... those were two of my best and all time trips... esp savusavu, we had sooo much fun in Savusavu and on the boats to and from savusavsu. i'm actually planning on going on a round trip to savusavu and back, jst to enjoy the sailing...lolat the end of the year, we went to the Yasawas for a little R&R and i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed myself there.... it was pure bliss...coming back from the yasawas, it was back home and the choir was disbanded for a while.... a bunch of us came back together to sing xmas carols at the ANZ bank main branch in downtown Suva. I scored $300 for that gig... let's jst say it helped me with my christmas shopping alot!!! loland that's how 2007 looked. if you want the gory details about the troubles in the choir, come and see me, this isn't shit i'd drop online for the whole world to know.much aroha! keep an eye out for my posts concerning this year's choir!
